On Tuesday night Great Torrington School hosted a Teachmeet. Seventy teachers from across the county, coming from as far Exeter and Taunton met to network and share ideas. Twenty teachers were brave enough to give presentations for two minutes or six minutes.

Topics ranged from folk music in the classroom to getting your iphone to mark pupils work. The teachers enjoyed mocktails, nibbles, cake and chilli chocolate, all provided by the event sponsors. Event organiser, John Stanier said "The more teachers can share ideas, the better teachers they become and the children of North Devon get a better education".

Laura Farmer, a teacher at King's School, Taunton said "What a great night, I have got so many ideas to get using with my pupils after Easter."

Richard Uffendell, a PE teacher from South Molton said "it was a great success" This was the first event of its kind in North Devon and it is hoped that a North Devon Teach Meet will become a regular event.
