Remembrance Services 2013

Posted on: 11/11/2013

School captains Edward Gist, Phoebe Baker and Max Johnson accompanied by Mr Daly and Mrs Clayton represented Great Torrington School by laying a wreath at Torrington War Memorial on Remembrance Sunday on behalf of the whole school community.

Mr Mark Reed school caretaker and former serving member of the Royal Air Force and member of the Royal British Legion Biker Riders Branch was asked to lead the parade through Torrington on his motorbike with his bike adorn with poppies and flags representing RBLR flag.

Today at 11am, the whole school fell silent at 11 o'clock as the school bell rang to signal the start of the two minute silence to pay our respects and thankfulness and remembered those who have given their lives for our freedom, particularly former students of the school.  We will remember them.

In our school community many pupils represented their youth groups across the Torridge area.
