RTC Day 2014

Posted on: 14/07/2014

What an amazing morning! All year 9 were involved with an initial presentation from the fire service where many issues of road safety were discussed, including wearing a seat belt, texting whilst driving, wearing a cycle helmet and cycling safely, particularly at night.

Pupils were encouraged to think about the consequences of their actions, and how their decisions affect those around them too.

We all them went outside where pupils were taught the recovery position, CPR, the impact of anti-social behaviour, a tour of a fire engine and a police car. The crews discussed what they do, and how they deal with emergency situations.

This ended in a demonstration of a road traffic accident where a member of staff was cut out of a car.
Huge thanks goes to all the emergency services that made this day possible and all year 9 who were phenomenal.
