Game Changer

Posted on: 14/05/2018

Pupils from Year 10 took part in the “Game Changer” initiative which is part of a national programme which aims to teach 60,000 pupils how to cook game by 2020.

Pupils were shown how to prepare a pheasant, as well as how to cook it before enjoying pheasant and Apple Bruschetta with horseradish mayonnaise.

The project has highlighted the seasonal, local and traditional food available here in the west country.   By working with the Taste of Game it has allowed us to do something that is above our normal budget and allows every student to learn a useful skill. We hope our pupils will continue to try something new and try out new recipes. For quite a few of our students they have never ever tasted pheasant and had never tried something like this before.
