Great Torrington School - Mini Tennis Festival

Posted on: 14/05/2014

More than  two hundred and eighty Key stage 1 and 2 children participated in the Great Torrington School mini Tennis Festival today.  The event, organised by the school, was run by Year 8 Sports Leaders from the School.

The sports leaders organised, warm ups for the younger children, showed them the activities, helped them to improve their ball and perception skills.   They all worked really hard and all enjoyed themselves.  Participating schools were: Great Torrington Bluecoat CE Primary School, The Tarka federation consisting of Dolton and Clinton Primary School, Beaford Primary School and Horwood Newton Tracey Primary School.

Mrs N Miller Marshall commented:
"You have been absolutely fantastic today! You coped with over 154 students and it really didn't feel like that because you had organised your groups so well.  They were active all the time, they knew what they were doing and you knew where to take them next.  You were a real credit to the school  and without all of you, it really wouldn't of happened".

Sports leaders comments about the day:

"They listened and they worked hard".
"They were really enthusiastic".
"I made some new friends".
