GTS Pupil shows off artistic talent

Posted on: 13/05/2014

A GTS pupil has been chosen to have a piece of her artwork featured in the May edition of a national crafts magazine called Artifacts featuring in their online gallery. Charlotte Evans, will see her work in the magazine which is used by hundreds of schools across the country.

Each year, the magazine publishes a student's artwork on their front cover and now young Charlotte will have to wait till December to hear if she has been successful in scooping the front cover of their 2015 Specialist Crafts Catalogue. Charlotte chose model Cara Delevingne as her inspiration for her ink drawing.  Charlotte said, "I just came across this picture of Cara Delevingne on the internet and as the subject was 'The Art of Food' I place the love heart on the tongue".

In early spring, Head of Art Tanya Kevern entered a selection of pupils' artwork into the competition, hoping that one might be selected for print.  Charlotte said, "I had forgotten about the competition, it was great to hear I had won, quite a surprise!"  Charlotte wins £75 voucher for the School to spend with Specialist Crafts catalogue.

The piece will be among the finalists for the Cover Competition which will be announced in December 2014. Congratulations Charlotte. You have amazing artistic flair.
