Torrington's Got Talent 2017

Posted on: 09/06/2017

As in previous years, GTS pupils wowed the Torrington's Got Talent audience with their wealth of talent during auditions as well as the show itself. The guest judges were: Singer, Rhi Wright, and Bill Buffery and Gill Nathanson from the Multi Story Theatre Company. They were overwhelmed by the variety of acts which included: singers, dancers, musical theatre, pianists and much more.  Pupils performed alone, in pairs and in groups - a lot of hard work had clearly gone into preparing for the final show.

It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm and complete joy of the performers, some of whom were really going out of their comfort zone.  It was delightful to see such encouragement and respect for one another throughout the auditions and finale of Torrington's Got Talent - these performers are a real credit to the school.

The judges gave thoughtful feedback full of encouragement and words of wisdom, which was both poignant and motivational. It was wonderful to announce that in their final year at the school, duo Emily Herbert and Alice Hayward were crowned as this year's Torrington's Got Talent winners with their duet of Taking Back my Heart, with Emily singing and Alice playing the ukulele.

Well done to the winners and to everyone who took part.  A big thank you to Mr. Mark Pluckrose and Mr. Simon Robilliard who organized the show and auditions, and Mr. Marcos Williats for the technical back up. Also, a big thank you to our three judges.
