RTC Day Friday

11th July 2014

Posted on: 08/07/2014

As part of our commitment to keep all young people in Devon and Somerset safer from fire, deaths, accidents and unintentional injuries, members of the Fire & Rescue Service visit schools to educate them on the dangers and consequences of risky behaviour at home, in school and in the community.

On Friday July 11th there will be a road safety session at Great Torrington School and the following will be covered:

* The consequences of speeding/using mobiles/not wearing seatbelts.

* Taking responsibility and making positive choices as a passenger in a vehicle.

* Pedestrian responsibilities.

* Life choices & the consequences of actions when safety measures are not adhered to.

We believe this will be a valuable and insightful day for our pupils.

Please be aware that there will be emergency vehicles in the school grounds, which are all part of the day and no cause for concern.
