GTS Pupils fundraise for Torrington Arts Centre

Posted on: 02/02/2017

We are delighted to announce that Endurance House have chosen to support Torrington Arts Centre with their current Crowdfunder project to raise money for their Lift, Loos, and Lights project.

Our non-uniform day will help to ensure that everyone has access to be able to use the facilities at The Plough Arts Centre. If each student simply brings £1 for the privilege of not wearing school uniform on Friday 10th February, as a school, we will be able to raise approximately £700 for the continued building work.

Endurance house will be hosting a variety of activities at lunchtime and we expect there will be the ever-so-popular bake sale, so please bring in a few extra pennies on the day.

Great Torrington School are very keen to support The Plough Arts Centre as we often use the facilities as a learning space for our students to experience life on stage and present, perform, dance and act, all of which are so vitally important to giving an all rounded education,  as well as an opportunity to express themselves and learn the importance of values and opinions through the arts.

This week, Year 9 pupils have been rehearsing with Sophie from The Plough Youth Theatre to get ready for their performance at The Plough on Friday 3rd February, 8.00pm as part of the North Devon Sunrise – A Celebration of Diversity event. Tickets https://goo.gl/3603Wi
