Save a Life training day

Posted on: 02/01/2014

On Tuesday 26th November and Thursday 28th November all of Year 8 were involved in a 'Save a Life' training day, delivered by The Red Cross.

Pupils were trained by Peter Juniper, Pam Willerton and Margaret Firman on the basis skills of first aid and how indeed they could save someone's life by equipping them with some simple skills.
All pupils were taught how to put a casualty into the recovery position, how to alert the emergency services, what to do if someone was choking, how to deal with cuts and bleeding and how to administer CPR.  The trainers remarked on how well behaved and interested all the pupils were.
