Year 9 pupils were excited to hear that they had the chance to come up with a design that could be used on all Combe Martin Music Festival promotional literature.

GTS pupils Pebbles-Marie White, Polly Sanders and Ryan Crosby designed the corporate branding logo which will be used for the music festival.  This was done as part of their year 9 graphics project and, judging of the reactions from the judges they feel it will make a positive impact with festival goers and hopefully help raise the profile and image of the festival.

Mr Davies, the graphics teacher said "I wanted to give the year 9 pupils an actual client and create that client/customer relationship which would engage the group." Pupils really worked at this project and it shone through with their research, their questioning Mrs Leisa Cohen, organiser of the festival and their dedication to meeting deadlines.

Throughout this project Mrs Leisa Cohen has visited the pupils to give them their brief and then returned to look at how things were going before visiting for the final judging with her panel.  Mrs Cohen praised students on their hard work and what fun it had been working with them all. "Congratulations to each and every one of you on the work you have produced. It is absolutely stunning; you and your teachers should be incredible proud.  I thank you for having me in a few weeks ago. We had an amusing time together but you still took time and patience to listen to me and gauge what our requirements were, thank you".

After briefing the students as part of their graphics design studies Leisa praised the work of the winning team saying "I was delighted with the designs but Pebbles-Marie, Polly and Ryan's design stood out and we're really pleased with it - it is fresh and modern and appeals to all ages which is what we want our music festival to do - there is a bit of fine tuning to be added to the logo which the group are going back to do for us".
