Dream, Believe, Achieve
WHAT is the subject about?
All pupils study Combined Science as part of the Core
Curriculum. However, here you can build upon those skills
and knowledge to study the extra content needed to gain 3
separate GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry and Physics
.
WHY should I choose this subject?
Science is awesome, and makes sense of the world around
you. By studying sciences separately at GCSE level you will
cover more content and find you’re better prepared if you
want to take science A-levels.
WHEN and HOW am I assessed?
You are assessed at the end of year 11 by examination,
consisting of 6 x 1hour 45 minute exams; two Biology, two
Chemistry and two Physics.
WHICH subjects should I have an aptitude in?
You must have a real interest in Science, a curiosity of the
world around you, and a desire to achieve.
WHERE could this subject take me in the future?
Any University or career interested in science-based
degrees and/or jobs. Whatever career you are considering,
taking ‘Triple Science’ GCSEs will set you up well for later
life. Employers are crying out for candidates with science-
based skills.
WHO do I need to speak to for more information?
Miss Higgs—Head of Science, or any of the Science
team.
