WHAT is the subject about?
Using your creativity to design and make products to
solve real world problems.
WHY should I choose this subject?
Design and Technology provides you with the skills that
employers and Further Education colleges seek; solving
problems; logical thinking; social, cultural and global
awareness; attention to detail; effective communication
skills.
WHEN and HOW am I assessed?
A non-examined assessment (30-35 hours) which is
worth up to 100 marks (50%) and a final 2 hour exam,
100 marks (50%).
WHICH subjects should I have an aptitude in?
You do not need a particular aptitude, if you enjoy being
creative and drawing on your knowledge from all subject
areas then you will enjoy this course.
WHERE could this subject take me in the future?
Further study at A Level, it is also looked on favourably
by colleges and employers if you are starting an appren-
ticeship or vocational course.
